For a start, the entire inside of the ceramic barbecue has remained unchanged since the Pro Series 1.0, retaining the tried and ingenious SGS (Smart Grid System) barbecue system and multi-piece firebox. The updates concern crucial details.

Innovations

• Handle with built-in LED light: When you are still cooking on your kamado late at night, it is handy to be able to clearly see what you are doing. The built-in LED light shines directly on the grid. You will find the button for this on the side of the handle. The handle comes without batteries; you can install them yourself by removing the screws from the steel plate.
• Side tables: The side tables are made of high-quality carbonised bamboo, both high quality and aesthetically pleasing.
• Fittings made of high-quality stainless steel: All steel parts around the ceramic are made of high-quality type 304 stainless steel.
• Improved base: The base is made of black powder-coated steel, robust and suitable for different types of surfaces.
• Storage: At the bottom of the base is a compact space where you can store, for example, a grill or other accessory.

Internal structure*

The Smart Grid System of the Monolith Avantgarde.55 offers a number of handy features for your barbecue experience. With a grid diameter of 44 cm, this kamado is perfect for grilling, baking, smoking and cooking. The system provides flexibility in preparing meals on multiple levels if needed. This innovative system uses split barbecue areas at different heights, where the stainless steel barbecue grid can be used in two parts. This also applies to the cast-iron grates, deflector stones, cast-iron planchas and stainless steel drip trays. The 1/2 division of the drip trays and deflector stones even allows you to use a direct and an indirect zone in the barbecue at the same time, while significantly reducing the risk of fat burning. The Smart Grid System also has two handy handles that allow you to easily remove the entire system from the kamado. The airtight design ensures constant temperatures in the Monolith. All components of the Monolith ceramic barbecue are designed with good airtightness in mind, including high-quality seals and a cast-iron ventilation hood for precise temperature control without fluctuations. Thanks to the excellent sealing, the coals glow through quickly and extinguish easily by simply closing the air supply and ventilation hood, so you can even reuse the charcoal for your next barbecue session. The Classic's Monolith firebox includes a metal frame with five ceramic segments that minimise stress cracks and ensure long life. The ash collection system is quick and convenient to empty with the included ash scoop. For a complete outdoor kitchen experience, the Monolith.55 has high-quality side tables made of fine bamboo, perfect for barbecue tools, plates and condiments near the barbecue. *Pizza stone not included.
