Valhal Outdoor’s VH6.1L Dutch Oven is made of cast iron, has no stand at the bottom and the lid has a stand-up edge and stand-off legs. Cast iron is a material that conducts and retains heat well, and is also suitable for any heat source.

Because of the feet on the lid, you can place it upside down directly on the heat source, without ‘smothering’ the heat. You can thus use the lid as a skillet. Thanks to the raised rim, you can place coals on the lid and thus create an oven function inside the Dutch Oven.

The VH6.1L does not have feet on the bottom, which makes it easy to place in your oven or on your barbecue grid. It also includes a central cut-out in the handle, ensuring the Dutch oven remains properly balanced over the fire when used with a tripod.

Valhal Outdoor’s Dutch Ovens are already pre-treated with a natural oil, so you do not need to do this yourself before first use. We do however recommend that you heat the Dutch Ovens thoroughly before using them for the first time. When you take good care of your Dutch Oven, you have a pan for life.

With a flat bottom, a Dutch Oven is easier to use in your kamado but also in an oven or other BBQ. As an extra, you can use the lid upside down as a skillet.
